Terms of Use
Last updated October 25, 2026
- You must be 13 or older. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Be kind. No sexual content, no hate or bullying, and no photos of other people without their permission.
- The pictures are made by AI. They can be strange, wrong or occasionally offensive. They aren't facts or anyone's real opinion.
- The game is free and provided as is.
1. Agreeing to these terms
Imagine This is run by the person who runs this website ("we"). By hosting or joining a game, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Imagine This.
2. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to host or join a game. If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they agree to these terms for you. The AI service behind the game, OpenAI, doesn't allow users under 13, and neither do we.
3. It's free
Imagine This doesn't charge anything and has no purchases, so there's nothing to refund. If that ever changes, we'll publish a refund policy before taking any payment.
4. Playing fair: what you may not post
You're responsible for the names, ideas, captions, prompts and photos you put into the game. Don't use Imagine This to make, upload or share:
- Sexual or nude content of anyone, and anything sexual involving a minor, ever.
- Photos of other people without their permission, or pictures meant to fool people into thinking something fake really happened.
- Hate, harassment, bullying or threats, including content targeting someone for their race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or other characteristic.
- Violence meant to shock, self-harm content, or anything illegal.
- Other people's copyrighted material or trademarks used without permission.
- Offensive names, or attempts to get around the name filter or the AI's safety checks.
You also agree to follow OpenAI's usage policies, since your ideas are sent to OpenAI.
5. Photos of real people
Only add a selfie of yourself, and only add reference photos you have the right to use. Don't add photos of anyone else unless they're OK with it. If someone names you in a prompt or idea, your selfie may be used so you look like yourself in that picture; if you don't want that, don't add a selfie.
6. AI pictures
Pictures, prompts and announcer lines are made by OpenAI's AI models from what players write. AI can get things wrong, make strange or unflattering pictures, or occasionally make something offensive. AI content isn't a statement of fact or anyone's real opinion, and we don't review it before it's shown. As far as the law allows, you can keep and share the pictures from your game for fun, but don't use them to mislead people or to embarrass or harass anyone.
7. Your content
You keep whatever rights you have in what you write and upload. You give us permission to use it only to run the game: to show it to the players in your game, to send it to OpenAI to make pictures, and to keep it briefly as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Hosts
If you host, you choose where the game is shown and who can join. Think about who can see your screen. You can remove any player from the lobby, and you're responsible for following these terms in your game.
9. Reporting and removing content
Anyone can ask us to remove a picture or photo with the report form, including people who aren't players. Reported pictures are taken down as soon as the report is sent, and always within 48 hours of a valid request, as the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act requires for intimate images shared without consent. We may remove any content or player, block names, or end a game that breaks these terms.
10. No guarantees
Imagine This is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will always work, be error-free, or that games won't be interrupted or lost.
11. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for content created by players or by the AI. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri and the United States. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to play means you accept it. Questions? Reach us at the contact and report form.
